10 year old Emily Vandenberg lead the charge at the 2009
Missassauga Open at UTM, winning 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medal, and
qualifying for her first ever Junior Provincial Championship in the
process. Emily made the cut in the 200m Backstroke, and finished
within a few tenths off the standard in several other swims.
Not be outdone was teammate Aryanna Fernandes, who continued to
post impressive results and add to her repertoire of Provincial
events. Aryanna swam to 100% lifetime bests, dropping 12 seconds in
both the 200FR and 400FR, and over 20 seconds in the 200BK.
Special congratulations are extended to both Amrik Randhawa and
Genevieve Phemister for making their first ever Regional qualifying
times.
